As far as I can tell, you can not issue a COMMIT connected as 'user A' which will commit transactions in 'schema B'.

Commit has nothing to do with schemas. Commit ends a transaction and transactions can span multiple schemas.
Don't you mean you try to commit another SESSION?
(That is not possible)

What does that mean? Do you get an error? How exactly do you check what was updated?

hi Frank
I am trying to update a value in diffent schema.
Insert command is working in this case,i don't know why the updation command ...
update A.table set fld = 'X' where fld2 = 'Y'
Forms_Ddl('COMMIT');
is not updating.

insert into A.table values ('X','Y','Z') ;
Forms_Ddl('COMMIT');

This is inserting the record....

Thanks & Regards

If you see this:
insert into A.table values ('X','Y','Z')
but you do not see this:
update A.table set fld = 'X' where fld2 = 'Y'
perhaps no record satisfies condition WHERE fld2 = 'Y'

If such an UPDATE statement works from SQL*Plus, it will work in Forms too. I believe you do have required privileges, don't you?

Did you try to create a synonym in user A's schema and update a synonym (instead of a table in schema B)?

Is there an exception handler in a form which prevents you from seeing an error which, possibly, occurred?

Try to put MESSAGE commands into this PL/SQL procedure/trigger (which is supposed to do the update) so that you could follow what is happening.

Instead of "Forms_Ddl('COMMIT');" use 'standard.commit;'.
