My form contains around 1000+ records with 10 recs being displayed at a time..
If i use the down arrow key i can scroll from 1st to last record, but if i use scroll bar to scroll, the form runtime hangs after retriving some records...

Check this block's "Number of Records Buffered" property; I guess it is set to its default value which buffers 10 + 3 records.

After you read about this property, try to increase the number of buffered records - it should improve processing speed.

When you say 'hang', I assume that the application is completely locked and you have to kill it and start again.

I assume that you are using Forms 9i.

Get the latest JInitiator and I expect your problem will be overcome.

Yes aplication hangs and i have to kill and restart form runtime and OC4J service..
Its forms 9i and JInitiator version is 1.3.1.9

i have already set the block's "Number of Records Buffered" property to 1000..but still this happens..
Pls note that this doesn't happen when you scroll with down arrow or page down key...it happens only when you click and scroll using scroll bar..
I dont know weather this is some bug of forms 9i...

pls provide help

Yes it is a bug, but it is in JInitiator. It is fixed in later version (anything newer than 2004). Alternative - remove the scroll bar and make the users use the cursor buttons, and the page up and page down keys.

We faced the same problem and i have found the solution ..and the only solution to this problem is get Jinitiator version 1.3.1.13.
It's a bug with Jinitiator version 1.3.1.9.
