how to check a valid linux directory path in oracle forms [message #190010]

Hi,

In my application the user enters the linux directory path,
where he wants the output file.
So i wanted to confirm whether the path user has entered is valid or no.
Can anybody please help me,
how would i be able to do this,
is there any package to do this ?
