Attaching horizontal scrollbar on a text item [message #182353]

Hi All -

I've been researching on how to attach a horizontal scrollbar
to a text item in Oracle Forms 6i. I have been unsuccessful
so far so I am wondering if any of you have tried this.

Any help would be much appreciated.

What's the purpose to attach horizontal scroll bar to a text item ??

Put the item on a separate stacked canvas and put a horizontal scroll bar on that canvas.

Thanks David.
I tried what you had suggested.
I noticed that the field itself is scrollable
but the text inside the field is not.

I did some more research and played around with
possible solutions but came up with nothing so far.

Make the displayed field length HUGE, but make the view window small. That way you have to move the WHOLE CANVAS to see the extra field data.

Hi All,

Thanks for your help.I came to know that horizontal scrollbar cannot be attached to a text item in Forms6i.

The whole data can be viewed by increasing the length of the textbox.
