Been busy reading rubbish. Ernest Cline's Ready Player One. It's pretty good. A near future techno thriller, reminiscent of Daniel Suarez's Daemon. Or even Neal Stephenson's Reamde. Also D Nolan Clark's Forsaken Skies trilogy, which has a lot of humour (eg, one character is actually a computer but hadn't realized). Though anyone who has read Saberhagen's Berserker stories may think that Clark is not completely original.
So that's how I spent lot of pandemic time, along with growing vegetables. On the plus side, I haven't had to leave home for work since December 2019. That's coming to an end now, I have to travel for a job in August Sad

Good luck, John. If you need a hand I know a rather keen, young(ish) DBA looking for a job Wink

Oh, yes - Fred Saberhagen. Enjoyed his "Smasher" story.
