Need help for Oracle Apps 11i form to use text_io function [message #486901]

Hi,

Kindly help

We create a form on 6i then deploye it on our Oracle apps Server with EBS and forms 11i Linux based. I want to create a form using form 6i which read a text file from client side and insert data into table i try text_io function but its not working after deployed on server and also try webutil function but its not working with oracle forms 6i kindly help how can i do this i will be very thankful.

text_io will run on the web-server. To work with files on the client machine I believe you need webutil. So you're going to have to upgrade to 10g forms.

what do you meant by
text_io will run on the web-server.?

and is there any other possibility to work with files on client machine using forms 6i?

text_io works with files on the machine the form is actually running on. So if you're using a web-server it'll be that. If you're running the forms directly on your pc then text_io will work with files on your pc.
As far as I'm aware Forms 6i can't interact with files on the client machine unless the form is running directly on the client machine.
That is why webutil was created.
