We currently are running Forms and Reports 6i.

We intend upgrading Java to jre 1.6.0_14. Would this have any impact on our environment? Can we safely go ahead with the upgrade?

For stuff like this I'd check with oracle themselves on their site. They should have compatability lists for stuff like this.
However since you're running a version of forms that is no longer supported there is a fairly good chance oracle haven't checked it's compatable with that java version.
In which case you should upgrade the java version on a test environment and test your application against it - which is something you should always do with upgrades anyway.
