All Oracle services.

But many times Windows has problems unlocking some of the DLLs.

The only workaround is to stop the services, set them to disabled, then reboot, then install whatever you need to install, then enable and start the Services again.

PS: Of course I had to guess somewhat what error you mean by "It's showing Error". Depending on WHAT error it actually is it could be something completely different.

Always install Reports 6i BEFORE Forms 6i. Uninstall Forms, make sure that the directory is removed and that there are no Oracle entries in the registry, reboot your PC TWICE!, verify that there are no Oracle processes and no Oracle entries in the registry, and install them again starting with Reports.

Thanks Martin

AS PER your INSTRUCTIONS I finally sucessfully installed FORMS6I AND REPORTS6I but at the last it gave a error message "D;\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS\START MENU\PROGRAMS\ORACLE DEVELOPER 60_DEFAULT_HOME IS NOT ACCESSIBLE ACCESS IS DENIED" when reports installed.

After that i installed FORMS6i Error Was " D:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS\ START MENU\PROGRAMS\ORACLE DEVELOPER 60_DEFAULT_HOME REFERS TO A LOCATION THAT IS UNAVAILABLE.IT COULD BE ON A HARD DRIVE ON THIS COMPUTER,OR ON A NETWORK.CHECK TO MAKE SURE THAT THE DISK IS PROPERLY INSERTED, OR YOUR NETWORK AND THEN TRY AGAIN.IF IT STILL CANNOT BE LOCATED, THE INFORMATION MIGHT HAVE BEEN MOVED TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION."

Uh, long directory names with spaces in combination with Forms/Reports 6i. Something I don't like when installing Oracle. I wouldn't know whether it will solve your problem or not, but (it is soooo hard to say): uninstall all of it again, and install into a directory whose name doesn't contain spaces and, possibly, follows "old" Windows directory naming system: up to 8 characters in length, no special characters. Something like "C:\oracle", and then let Installer install products in there.

If Windows 2003 is anything like Vista then a normal user cannot write to "\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS". Start again and follow LF's advice.

No. Oracle database goes in one directory and Reports and Forms goes into another directory.

It is quite likely that Forms and Reports 6i is not certified for Windows 2003.

Search this forum for 'certification matrix' and 'matrix'.

Search for 'matrix' and search for 'tnsnames.ora'.
